According to its current statutes, its objectives are:
- Social action and research, fostering and developing the science and culture of Majorca; and
- Study and dissemination of the work, figure, and thought of Ramon Llull.
In 1950, the Estudio General Luliano was re-founded with the purpose of initiating the path towards the establishment of university studies in Majorca, initially dependent on the University of Barcelona. With the creation of the University of the Balearic Islands in 1978, a cycle closed, and the Estudio General Luliano acquired new functions, even more so after the creation of the Official School of Languages in 1986.
