Climate Shelters in Schools

Organized by Palma XXI. Conference by Cristina Llorente

Climate shelters in schools are spaces adapted to protect students and staff from extreme heat, especially during intense heat waves. These shelters include measures such as shading, walls and roofs with improved insulation, adequate ventilation, and resources to stay cool. Their main purpose is to ensure the safety and well-being of students under extreme weather conditions.
