From Baroque and Romanticism to the Great Musicals

The Orfeó Ramon Llull presents a fresh and varied choir and piano concert in the beautiful courtyard of the Estudi General Lul·lià.

The programme offers a musical journey from the Baroque and Romantic periods to some of the most celebrated musicals of all time. The concert will feature works by Handel, Schubert and Rossini, alongside the evocative Cançons de Ciutat by Raimon and Bernat Romaní i Cornet.

The audience will also enjoy sounds inspired by jazz, rock and soul, with songs by The Beatles, Paul Simon, Irving Berlin and Crouch. Willcocks’ humorous musical piece adds a playful touch to an evening full of contrasts and emotions.

The programme is completed with excerpts from some of the most iconic musicals ever written, including Cabaret, West Side Story and The Phantom of the Opera.

The concert is conducted by Carles Ponsetí Verdaguer, director of the Orfeó Ramon Llull, with piano accompaniment by Marta Ambròs.
