Ecosocial Imaginaries for Climate Struggles
Organized by Palma XXI. Conference by Margalida Ramis
In a world where ecosocial collapse seems inevitable, we reclaim the power of collective imaginaries to challenge dominant narratives and build a present and future reality based on social justice values, taking into account all the imbalances and uncertainties arising from the ecological and climate crisis. In a world where everything falls, everything is yet to be done, and we assert the right to imagine the (im)possible to construct the world we want to live in and inhabit. The proposal invites collective reflection on whether we are doomed to inevitable dystopias or if we can build desirable ecotopias and emancipatory utopias through subverting dominant narratives and reclaiming shared sovereignties.
